Be a part of a very exciting and worthwhile charity auction...Our best marketing tool is our guests sharing event details with others. People not only love this event, they usually bring new friends the next year! Thanks to our outstanding supporters, the New York International Wine Auction (NYIWA), one of the northeast’s premier wine and food events, reached a record of raising over $320,000 in 2018!
The New York International Wine Auction is acknowledged as a premier wine and culinary event, and more importantly, is regionally recognized as a major charitable wine auction. NYIWA attracts wine enthusiasts and supporters from all over the United States.
The auction features wines from every major growing region of the world. Bidders at NYIWA are consistently given the opportunity to obtain the best names in wine. Large format bottles, verticals, and rare acquisitions have become the standard for the event. In addition to the great wine auction items, NYIWA also offers for bid — trips, jewelry, and other fine lifestyle items. Trips offered in 2018 included: Tuscany, Bali, Quebec, Oregon, New York City, Florida, and Napa and Sonoma, CA.
Each year, an international wine tasting occurs during the silent auction. Following the tasting, a five-course gourmet dinner paired with outstanding wines and a live auction are the highlights of the evening.
The New York International Wine Auction benefits Arc Herkimer, located in Herkimer, NY. Arc Herkimer is a not-for-profit organization that serves and advocates for individuals with developmental and other disabilities. Daily, over 780 individuals and their families receive medical, residential, counseling, vocational, clinical, therapeutic, family, and transportation services. The Arc Herkimer's voluntary board of directors is comprised of members of the local community and includes people with disabilities and family members of people with disabilities. The nonprofit's mission is empowering people with disabilities and enriching lives throughout our community.
NYIWA Auction Director Kristen Smith says she is inspired each year by the continuing generosity of the top wineries and individuals in the United States to support the work the human service agency does on behalf of people with disabilities.
From its modest beginnings in 1996, NYIWA has enjoyed great and growing success. Proceeds are used to cover the cost of vital programs, which are not reimbursed at either state or federal levels.
Please join us for our 24th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, September 28, 2019, to make NYIWA a True Cause for Celebration!
