Be a part of a very exciting and worthwhile charity auction...Our best marketing tool is our guests sharing event details with others. People not only love this event, they usually bring new friends the next year!  Thanks to our outstanding supporters, the New York International Wine Auction (NYIWA), one of the northeast’s premier wine and food events, has raised $3,462,765 in the last 22 years.

One of the most wonderful and memorable moments of the 2017 event was the outpouring of generosity by our attendees. One steadfast donor, Paul Kucerak, announced that whatever we raised in the Fund-A-Need Auction Lot to support the Arc PARK, he would personally match. In the end and paddle by paddle, $90,000 was raised in a matter of ten minutes to support our continued fundraising effort for the new park in Herkimer, NY. Our supporters are truly amazing!

The New York International Wine Auction is acknowledged as a premier wine and culinary event, and more importantly, is regionally recognized as a major charitable wine auction. NYIWA attracts wine enthusiasts and supporters from all over the United States.

The auction features wines from every major growing region of the world. Bidders at NYIWA are consistently given the opportunity to obtain the best names in wine. Large format bottles, verticals, and rare acquisitions have become the standard for the event. In addition to the great wine auction items, NYIWA also offers for bid — trips, jewelry, and other fine lifestyle items. Trips offered in 2017 included: Tuscany, Bali, Costa Rica, Montego Bay, Jamaica, New York City, New Orleans, LA, and Napa and Sonoma, CA.

Each year, an international wine tasting occurs during the silent auction. Following the tasting, a five-course gourmet dinner paired with outstanding wines and a live auction are the highlights of the evening.

The New York International Wine Auction benefits Arc Herkimer, located in Herkimer, NY. Arc Herkimer is a not-for-profit organization that serves and advocates for individuals with developmental and other disabilities. Daily, nearly 700 individuals and their families receive medical, residential, counseling, vocational, clinical, therapeutic, family, and transportation services. The Arc Herkimer's voluntary board of directors is comprised of members of the local community and includes people with disabilities and family members of people with disabilities. The nonprofit's mission is empowering people with disabilities and enriching lives throughout our community.

NYIWA Auction Director Tony Vennera says he is inspired each year by the continuing generosity of the top wineries and individuals in the United States to support the work the human service agency does on behalf of people with disabilities. "We created a unique fundraising event; it attracts donors from an area that at times seems overwhelmed with groups soliciting funds for very worthwhile organizations. It is a humbling experience to accept these wonderful donations to support the work we do here in Central New York.”

From its modest beginnings in 1996, NYIWA has enjoyed great and growing success. Proceeds are used to cover the cost of vital programs, which are not reimbursed at either state or federal levels.

Please join us for our 23rd Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, October 6, 2018 to make NYIWA a True Cause for Celebration!

“We know the importance of supporting Arc Herkimer and to do so and in turn, receive a perfect blend of fine people, tantalizing tastes at a beautiful setting, which certainly makes NYIWA an event we don't want to miss. It's definitely a highlight of our year!”
